Its namesake stems from the American railroad legend, Casey Jones, who heroically laid down his life in 1900 in an attempt to save the passengers aboard his train. Made legendary by the “Ballad of Casey Jones” his legend is immortalized in a train museum in his original home.

As a major draw on the Music Highway and located just off I-40, Casey Jones Village provides a variety of attractions to both the casual passerby and the planned group tour.  This popular attraction features the award winning Casey Jones Village Old Country Store Restaurant (voted Jackson’s favorite restaurant in 2005, ‘06, and ’07), Historic Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum, The Shoppes at Casey Jones Village, Wildlife in Wood Studio and the Casey Jones Village Amphitheatre.

The Old Country Store Restaurant is home to the now-famous three daily country-style buffets. Voted the number one attraction by Jackson residents, the restaurant features the old country store and the newly expanded to-go counter to accommodate those who don’t have time to ‘sit a spell’.
